The 24 at Sanse is far more than a test of endurance: it is a charitable event whose proceeds will support a worthy cause—the creation of the Sanse Adapted Athletics School. The race will begin on October 2 at 7:00 PM and will run through to October 3 at 7:00 PM, taking place on the athletics track at the Dehesa Boyal Municipal Sports Center. This venue will become the stage for the event, featuring a relay race in which each pair or team pushes their limits: aiming to complete as many laps as possible over 24 uninterrupted hours, in a setting that is sporting, charitable, and grounded in self-sufficiency. Among those who have already confirmed their attendance is a world marathon champion, the great Martín Fiz.
The competition includes three participation formats (pairs, teams of 4, and teams of 8), each offered in male, female, and mixed categories. Pairs will run on lanes 1 and 2 (a 400 m lap), while teams of 4 and 8 will use lanes 3 through 8 (a 420 m lap). Every 3 hours, the direction of movement will be reversed.
The organizers will provide each team with a light source and a 3 x 3 meter space to set up their base camp (tents and equipment supplied by each team), as well as refreshments throughout the event. This is a self-sufficient challenge: every team must bring its own food for the full 24 hours, or opt for the full-board meal option available at registration. Runners will be able to access the facilities starting Friday the 2nd at 5:00 PM to assemble and place their base camp as a team. At 6:30 PM, the technical meeting for the race will be held.
Trophies will be awarded to the top three finishers in each category (pairs, teams of 4, and teams of 8, in male, female, and mixed divisions), determined by the total number of laps and the distance covered. In addition, on Saturday, October 3, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, a fast-timed lap and a slow-timed lap will be contested, with separate prizes for both.
