20 year, Winnie Boinett banned for three years for doping

The Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) has banned Winnie Jemutai Boinett of Kenya for three years for the Presence/Use of a Prohibited Substance (Testosterone), which is a violation of the World Anti-doping rules.

The 20 year-old who is the 2021 World U20 1500m bronze medallist, was apprehended on November 12, 2023 when she provided a urine Sample, In-Competition, at the XLI Cross Internacional de Italica in Seville, Spain.

On March 5, 2024, Boinett wrote to AIU accepting that she broke the Anti-doping rule Violations and signing the Acceptance of Consequences Form.

All her results were disqualified from 12 November 2023, with all resulting Consequences, including the forfeiture of any medals, titles, points, prize money and prizes.
